The agglomeration of stars, dust and gas at the center of the Milky Way emits energy like a small quasar and may be matter infalling into a black hole. The hole would need to be several million solar masses in size. Only radio and IR frequencies are effective for collecting data on the center, which exhibits a spiral structure at a 3 kpc scale. The stellar density at the center is 10 million times that of the solar neighborhood. Broad emission lines are emitted by ionized clouds around the center. The clouds and gas around the inner parsec of] he center shine with an energy which matches estimates of the energy from accretions onto a million solar mass black hole. The energy estimates, however, do not account for the 3 kpc arms about the center of the Galaxy.
