A cool star's activity depends on the amount of differential rotation generated by the convection zone. However the theoretical understanding of stellar differential rotation is quite incomplete. Based on numerical experiments solving the compressible fluid equations in a spherical shell (thickness ~ 30% of stellar radius) problems on the generation of differential rotation and about the dependence of the differential magnitude on the stellar rotation are investigated. The pattern of the differential flow is found to go through a transition as the Coriolis number (proportional to the stellar rotation) increases from zero. After the transition a solar-like differential rotation profile is obtained. The magnitude of the differential rotation then grows but at a rate substantially slower than the increase of the stellar rotation.
