Comments are made on tidal torques between protogalaxies which form when
a cloud of gas fragments, as in the adiabatic or pancake theory. It
appears that tidal torques may account for a significant part of the
spin angular momenta of present-day spirals, but only if they were very
flat as protogalaxies.
