A statistically reliable correlation is discovered between the outbursts of brightness and its variations of the new short-period Comet Churiumov-Gerasimenko and the solar activity level. It is shown that, contrary to the results of Orlov (1923), the integral brightness of Comet Halley correlates with the changes in the solar activity indices and with the solar wind velocity.
