Photographs and observers' comments are presented for the lunar eclipse of May 24-25, 1975, which was observed over the United States and Canada. It is shown that the moon passed north of the center of the earth's umbral shadow at maximum obscuration, giving the eclipse a geometrical magnitude of 1.43. The degree of darkness is estimated as 2 on the five-point Danjon scale for grading the relative brightness of lunar eclipses on the basis of the visual appearance at mid-totality. Grazing occultations of several stars are described, including those of SAO 184115 and BD -20 deg 4406.
