The existence of additional neutral gauge bosons (Z') is a feature of many theories beyond the Standard Model. We report on a direct search for Z' in the high invariant di-electron mass spectrum using the upgraded DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron pbarp collider at √s=1.96 TeV. We will present preliminary results using data collected in 2001-2002 (Run II).
