Many new physics processes probed at the Fermilab Tevatron in Run II involve τ leptons such as Higgs arrow ττ and high tanβ SUSY processes with τs in the final state. W/Z bosons decaying into τ leptons have to be well understood as backgrounds to these processes. We describe the reconstruction of hadronically decaying τ leptons as a step towards the reconstruction of electroweak bosons decaying into τ leptons utilizing the upgraded DØ detector. We report on the analysis of the data collected during the 2001-2002 Run of the Fermilab Tevatron in p\overlinep collisions at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV .
