Data are discussed which were obtained with X-ray and gamma-ray spectrometers on board Prognoz 2 during the solar flare on August 4, 1972. It is noted that the X-ray data for the range between 250 and 340 keV exhibited a plateau-like curve during the flare and that a gamma-ray burst occurred which was especially intense in the range between 3.9 and 8.06 MeV. The data are correlated with type II and type IV radio bursts as well as with solar proton fluxes.
