Nova LMC 1995 was observed 6 years after the outburst with XMM and still found to be a bright supersoft X-ray source. Novae that still appear as supersoft X-ray sources several years after the outburst seem to be rare, yet the offer an important possibility to understand the nature of the underlying hot white dwarf. In this paper we report on the attempts to fit atmospheric models to the data, in collaboration with groups that are developing new tools for this purpose.
