The massive X-ray binary SS 433 was observed three times using the Chandra High Energy Transmission Grating Spectrometer (HETGS). The zeroth order image shows extended X-ray emission on a scale of several arc seconds, extending to ~ 3 × 10^17 cm from the binary. The region is elongated in the same direction as the radio emission on a similar scale in which discrete emission components are observed to move ballistically from the core. This region reprensents one of three where the relativistic jets interact with the material in the SNR W50, which is commonly associated with SS 433. We will present the spectrum of this X-ray emission and discuss models of the radiation mechanism.
