In gravitation with torsion that is derived from the derivative of an antisymmetric tensor, a string is used as the source. The conventional energy momentum tensor arises from the Nambu-Goto term, and torsion arises from the Kalb-Ramond coupling. It is shown that the string gives rise to intrinsic spin, which gives rise to the torsion field. In the zero torsion limit, the equation of motion of a small string is examined, including geodesic deviation, and it is shown that the result is equivalent to the expected form. This shows that a string source of gravity should pass all of the observed tests of general relativity.
