The two radio sources 4C 29.6 (3C 59) and 4C 35.37 have been identified optically with rather distant Seyfert galaxies. Observations with the MERLIN array show both cases to be misidentifications. 4C 35.37 is an unrelated, double-lobed background source, whereas the Seyfert itself is not detected. 4C 29.6 appears mainly a superposition of two background sources (a core source with one-sided jet, and a small-scale double), while the Seyfert is also detected. The observed radio structures and the relevance of these results for the understanding of the overall radio properties of Seyferts are discussed.
