One of the greatest discoveries of the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory is that AGN, gamma ray bursts and plerions are powerful emitters of high energy gamma rays. This discovery is, in general, quite constraining of physical conditions in the source region. In this talk, I will discuss high energy emission, emphasizing future GLAST observations of AGN jets. I will also discuss some new, more general, ideas that this emission is due to electromagnetic turbulence driven by instability of high density currents accelerating and exciting electrons and positrons. Some testable consequences of this hypothesis will be outlined.
