The effect of a large amplitude electromagnetic wave on the ion motion of a magnetized plasma is considered by solving analytically the ion motion equations. The solution is obtained by multiple time scale analysis of the set of motion equations and at the second order in the expansion of a parameter which accounts for the strength of the field. A large ion drive velocity is found perpendicularly to the direction of the wave incident electric field, and when the gyration motion of the ion around the axial magnetic field is resonating with the considered wave frequency. Full numerical calculations are also performed and compared to the analytical calculation. .
