Combined analysis of astrophysical and cosmological consequences of axion models permits rigorous selection of such models and identifications of the most self-consistent archion model based on models of quantum flavordynamics with a low (≡106GeV) scale of generation symmetry breaking. In models of an invisible axion with a low (<108GeV) scale of the axion interaction there is predicted to be a primordial thermal axion background due to the establishment of equilibrium between the axions and the plasma in the early universe after a QCD phase transition due to the reaction πN→aN. The spectrum of cosmic archions predicted in hierarchical decay models of the formation of structure in the universe is calculated. This will increase the possibilities for detailed testing of models of quantum flavordynamics with a low scale of the generation symmetry breaking.
