The theory of probability distributions developed for the problem of a passive scalar diffusing in a random velocity field (Sinai and Yakhot, 1989) is modified for the problem of turbulent Benard convection. The cases where turbulence production does not involve any particular velocity scale and where turbulence production involves a well-defined velocity scale are considered.
