The theoretically predicted non-axisymmetric giant convection pattern has been studied by using its probable twisting influence on the emerging magnetic fields. The studies resulted in an evidence for a giant cell pattern with longitudinal wave number 1 - 11 which has a rotation rate differing by Δω = -0.35 degrees/day from that of the Carrington system.
