In this paper, we have studied higher dimensional global monopole in
general relativity and in Lyra geometry retaining terms of the order
\frac{1}r^2 in the energy momentum tensor for a triplet scalar field.
The gravitational field of the global monopole is shown to be attractive
in nature.
