Scientific paper

An algorithm for a computer version of the Hertzsprung method for
determining light extremum moments for periodic variable stars is
described. This method is the most precise in the case of stable light
curves. Recommendations on how to account for the time delay of Cepheid
maxima in the B and V bands are given.
