The effects that adopted intrinsic colors have on the luminosity calibration of SN Ia are investigated. It is shown that SN Ia are good standard candles only if (B-V)max is about 0.0 in which case they are relatively faint at M(B)(max) about -20.0 in spirals and M(B)(max) = -19.0 in E and S0 galaxies. The Hubble diagram for the absorption-corrected maximum magnitudes of SN Ia is found to have marginally smaller dispersion for a Virgocentric infall model than it does for a model without such infall.
