Scientific paper

Investigations of X-ray astronomy are being conducted in India with the aid of balloons and rockets. An X-ray telescope is carried by a balloon along with instruments which give continuous information on the aximuth and the altitude. The results obtained in the investigations are discussed, giving attention to short-term variations in Sco X-1, questions of rocket astronomy, the observation of low-energy X-ray flux from the source Con X-2 after its reported extinction in May 1967, and data regarding the density of interstellar matter.
