This summary of noctilucent cloud (NLC) sightings in the period 2001-2005 is in the abbreviated form already used in the Journal. It continues the annual listings in The Meteorological Magazine between 1964 and 1991, begun by Aurora Section Director James Paton and his colleagues. When that ceased publication, the Aurora Section took the listings into our Journal in the interests of continuity of the data.
