Earth based high angular resolution interferometry is discussed together with space and lunar based interferometry (with emphasis on the latter). The scientific goals of optical and sub-milimeter interferometry in astrometry and imaging are described and some aspects of astronomy and astrophysics that will benefit from interferometry are presented. The advantages of lunar interferometry are summarized. A strategy for the development of such a lunar interferometry program is also summarized.
