Tinsley has proposed that late-type spirals have relatively more
nonluminous material than early-type spirals. A re-examination of the
data indicates that this proposal is equally consistent with dark matter
being more dominant in barred galaxies than in unbarred galaxies.
Neither conclusion can be firm, since the dataset is far from ideal.
