The Hawking radiation in two-dimensional moving mirror models of black-hole formation is shown to be a direct consequence of the central charge in the Virasoro algebra. Hence mirror trajectories related by the action of an anomaly-free SL(2, R) subgroup lead to the same energy-momentum tensor expectation value. The same invariance is found in the energy spectrum of the created particles. The relation to the Frolov-Filkovisky effective action approach is discussed.
