Models describing the evolution of structural parameters and the spectrum of the dust shell around Eta Car are constructed using one-dimensional radiative hydrodynamic calculations. The models include the growth and destruction of dust grains. The results of the numerical modeling are combined with data on the IR spectrum, light curves, envelope structure, and mass loss to place constraints on the object's parameters. It is found that the central source temperature should be about 25000-30000 K. Other constraints include an outflow velocity of 300-500 km/s and a mass loss rate greater than 0.03 solar mass/yr.
