The window and stacking effects on the estimation of the number of foreground and background galaxies in a cluster are discussed. In certain cases, in contrast to the traditional view, a very significant number of foreground and background galaxies may be observed. It is suggested that data concerning the hidden mass in clusters of galaxies should be reconsidered.
