Density-sensitive emission-line ratios R1 = I(338.27 A)/I(364.47 A) and R2 = I(338.27 A)/I(352.10 A) are calculated for Fe XII using new electron collisional excitation rates which are substantially larger than those previously published. Electron densities deduced from the values of R1 and R2 for solar active regions and flares obtained by the NRL S082A slitless spectrograph on Skylab are in good agreement.
