HD 115968 is an eight-magnitude late-type star in the constellation Canes Venatici, near the North Galactic Pole. Photoelectric radial-velocity measurements show that HD 115968 is a spectroscopic binary with a period of 16.195 days (Joy, 1947; Griffin, 1967). The luminosity corresponding to the spectral type of G8 III, as maintained by Zaitseva (1973), is found to be improbable. Instead, the spectral type of dG6, suggested by Joy (1947), seems more likely, and is in excellent accord with the parallax of 0.025 + or - 0.007 arc sin given in the General Catalogue of Stellar Parallaxes (Schlesinger, 1935).
