Evolutionary tracks for extreme HB stars are presented. They cover the evolution out of the ZAHB of very blue HB stars (subdwarfs B) found in some galactic globular clusters. Many of the UV-bright stars of population II may be understood in terms of these structures. The time spent by these objects at high temperatures and luminosities make them good candidates as origin of the far UV emission from old stellar systems.
