A general formulation of energy-weighted sum rules for one electron atoms in an arbitrary magnetic field is presented. These sum rules are evaluated in the B → 0 and B → ∞ limits using a trial wave function that is product of a Landau function and a hydrogenic function. As an application, the present sum rules are used to estimate other useful sum rules which cannot be evaluated easily.
