The Oriented Scintillation Spectrometer Experiment (OSSE) on the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory observed Her X-1 during two viewing periods of the first year of operation: 12 Sept 1991--19 Sept 1991 and 23 Jan 1992--6 Feb 1992. The first observation nicely straddled the turn-on of the 35-day cycle, the second observation began about 12 days before a 35-day turn-on. The 1.25-sec period light curve and 1.7-day eclipse cycle were clearly visible in the first observation. The data from the second observation are currently being analyzed. Energy spectra, intensities averaged over hourly intervals, and average 1.25-sec pulse shapes will be presented.
