Radio observations of normal spiral galaxies at a frequency of 430 MHz
are presented. These observations were performed with the 1000-ft radio
telescope at Arecibo. The relation between radio emission from normal
spiral galaxies and evidence of nuclear activity is investigated and it
is shown that a correlation exists.
