Using smoothed sunspot numbers (SSN) for all previous solar cycles, we
predict the amplitude and mean of SSN for cycle 24. We compare our
results with other predictions. On the basis of our prediction for SSN,
we put forward a forecast of the solar wind quasi-invariant (QI) and
helium abundance in the interplanetary space at 1 Au.
