The authors describe the survey in which the pulsating DB white dwarf GD
358 was found, and they present a list of the DB white dwarfs observed
in the survey that did not have detectable pulsations. The authors show
that there are probably no pulsational instability strips for the DB
white dwarfs at temperatures less than 20,000K.
