Data for a sample of 185 red dwarfs obtained in an objective-prism survey are reanalyzed in light of subsequent photoelectric photometry. It is found that this sample of stars, obtained without kinematic bias, has a luminosity function indistinguishable from the general luminosity function and a tangential velocity dispersion of ±37 km/sec, similar to numerous other studies of late-type dwarfs.
