A survey for strong, self-damped Lyman-alpha absorption systems in a sample of high redshift QSOs has been begun, assuming that these systems represent HI disks of galaxies viewed along the line of sight to the QSO. The survey, approximately half completed, has provided several new confirmed or suspected cases of self-damped Lyman-alpha absorption systems. One particularly interesting object, Hazard 1337 + 1121, has been analyzed in considerable detail in terms of a young self-gravitating disk.
