The Chinese calendar is a form of luni-solar calendar. The rules in
operation today have remained unchanged since almost the very beginning
of the last (Qing) dynasty - i. e. as far back as A.D.1645. It is the
purpose of this article to explain these rules, particularly with regard
to the determination of month numbers and intercalation.
