The chronometric cosmology is based on the concept that true space-time M in the large is the only alternative to Minkowski space-time M0 with similar properties of isotropy, homogeneity, and separation of space from time in the large. In the present investigation, certain results are reported. The results are consistent with the chronometric cosmology in the major remaining area relevant to its empirical validation. However, there arises the question of whether evolution within the framework of a Friedman cosmology is more than a 'deus ex machina' required to avoid rejection of an otherwise observationally invalidated hypothesis.
