A radio-based search for very-high-redshift QSOs (z not less than 3) carried out with the CSIROs Parkes 64-m radiotelescope is described. The search was based on a catalog obtained from the Parkes 2700 MHz survey of the entire Southern Hemisphere (except the galactic plane and Magellanic Clouds). Some of the technical difficulties in detecting distant QSO objects are discussed, and the results of the search are compared with other recent observational results. It is predicted that when the first QSO is found with a redshift of about four, it will most likely have a hump-shaped radio spectrum. Graphic reproductions are provided of the radio spectra of all QSOs selected in the search.
