The vertical distributions of stratospheric O3, NO2 and NO3 were deduced from spectrometric measurements of bright rising stars and of the planet Venus using the tangent ray method. The NO2 absorption was detected in the 427 to 452 nm range. Spectra recorded between 642 and 672 nm yield the NO3 and O3 absorptions in the 662 nm band and the Chappuis band respectively. Results of four balloon flights are presented.
