The discovery of the neutron is discussed, as well as the role of the neutron in several astrophysical events. Topics covered include the formation of heavy elements in stars, rare isotope formation, neutron stars, and neutron oscillation and low energy galactic antiprotons. Consideration is also given to electric dipole moment of the neutron and the entropy per baryon, the big bang theory, and the initial helium that resulted from neutron interaction in early ambient conditions (e.g., density and temperature). Finally, comprehension of the neutron is related to understanding the behavior of matter at the end point of stellar evolution, as in the case of pulsars.
