Polarization - Ism: Individual: Vhe65A - Reflection Nebulae
Scientific paper
An optical polarization map of VHE65a shows it to consist of a small fan of reflection nebulosity illuminated by a star located at the apex of the fan. The previously illuminating source has been misidentified, and we can no longer substantiate the claim that VHE65a is the reddest known reflection nebula or that there is an organic component to the dust grain material.
VHE65a has many features that are characteristic of well-studied cometary nebulae associated with star formation and mass outflows in dark clouds.
