High resolution radio observations of the compact planetary nebula M1-6 are reported. The angular size is measured to be 2arcsec.3 and a mass of ≡10-2 M_sun; is derived. The authors deduce an upper limit to the age of M1-6 of 103 yr making it one of the youngest planetary nebulae known. The nebula is slightly elongated showing high density and sharp outer boundaries along the two ends of the minor axis. This implies that the nebular shell is either ionization bounded or is interacting with the remnant circumstellar envelope of its red giant progenitor. The observed morphology suggests that M1-6 may develop into a bipolar nebula.
