Radio continuum observations at 1.4 and 5.0 GHz are presented for the group of galaxies in the core of the Virgo cluster. Most of the bright galaxies are detected. A notable exception is M86, the brightest giant elliptical in the cluster. In the peculiar galaxy NGC 4438 the extended radio emission is displaced from the galaxy. The peculiar shape of this galaxy and the asymmetry of the radio emission could be due to a strong wind caused by the hot halo of the nearby giant galaxy M87, or to the tidal effect of a companion.
