Light Pollution, Cfds

Scientific paper

A survey sent to UK astronomical societies in 1989 found that over 90% of observers were affected by light pollution, some to the extent that they had given up active observing. The CfDS was set up at this time by concerned members of the BAA, in the belief that everybody, not just astronomers, should be able to see and wonder at the starry sky. This report highlights some of the achievements to date.
