Radio maps of the quasar 3C380, a powerful steep-spectrum compact source (SSCS), are presented along with a discussion of the quasar's radio structure, interpreted as a powerful interaction between the radio-emitting plasma and its environment. The quasar's position angle is approximately -52 deg, and all its emission, except for that from the nucleus, is optically thin down to less than or approximately equal to 400 MHz. Other topics given consideration include the shape of the high luminosity source, and the twin-beam models and variations thereof. Finally, it is proposed that the energy-carrying beams are interacting with energetic interstellar gas resulting from a galaxy merger.
