The paper reports measurements of the Faraday effect of 40.008 MHz
signals received from the Intercosmos-19 satellite at the Alma-Ata
station during 1979-1981. Stationary ionospheric disturbances are
identified which are responsible for rotation frequency variations of
the polarization plane of the satellite signal.
