The concept of output signal-to-noise is used to determine the limiting stellar magnitude, the signal-to-noise of stellar images, and the precision of the photometry of faint stars on a given plate taken by a 2-m telescope. Tests of the results show their reasonableness and underline the usefulness of the output signal-to-noise concept in astronomical photography.
