Intrinsic polarizations have been measured for 15 out of 39 red giant members in the globular clusters NGC 5272 (M3) and NGC 6205 (M13). The intrinsic linear polarization values are all less than 2 percent. Possible mechanisms for producing the observed amounts of polarization are discussed in terms of circumstellar scattering from dust or molecules in the circumstellar region and from photospheric effects such as surface magnetic fields.
